Effective July 1, 2023, Aetna is making pharmacy drug changes to the 2023 Aetna Health Exchange Plan, Small Group California formulary. The Aetna Health Exchange plan – Small Group formulary will now be separated in to two separate formularies – California HMO and California OAMC/PPO. Based upon feedback from the DOI, the OAMC/PPO network will have additional drugs covered and/or on lower tiers. See the OAMC/PPO Summary of Changes for details. Click here for more details
On June 30th when accessing the Aetna formulary website, you will choose a plan year and plan then click view pharmacy plan. You will then select a state – California, the site will expand to show both formulary options
The new formulary names will be:
- Aetna Health Exchange Plan – California – HMO
- Aetna Health Exchange Plan – California – OA Managed Choice® POS, Open Choice® PPO
Additionally, the pharmacy drug changes will apply to all California Small Groups.
