PIH Health Medical Group will join the growing network of Blue Shield ACO Trio providers effective January 1, 2021. This expansion is effective for all lines of business that offer Trio HMO and now covers 38% of HMO Access+.
PIH Health is a nonprofit, regional healthcare network that serves approximately 2.5 million residents in the Los Angeles County. The fully integrated network is comprised of PIH Health’s medical group and two hospitals in Whittier and Downey.
Trio HMO has been Blue Shield’s fastest growing plan and is focused on delivering choice, coordinated care, and affordability. With the addition of PIH Health to Trio’s network, access to care is collectively increasing in a populated area of Los Angeles. In addition to the growing network, Trio members have access to:

- $0 cost share for first Heal on-demand visit, with $0 prescription delivery
- Free Healthy Savings grocery discount program
- Shield Concierge
