Great news: Effective April 1, 2022, Cigna + Oscar will be launching extended LocalPlus®
coverage with CaliforniaChoice.
What is LocalPlus®?
- The Cigna LocalPlus® network provides a locally designed network of doctors, specialists, and hospitals that offer cost-effective medical care without sacrificing the quality employees expect. This network was designed with affordability and access in mind
- Currently, CaliforniaChoice Cigna + Oscar plans offer access to the California LocalPlus® (available in 14 rating areas in California) and any employees outside of these rating areas cannot enroll with Cigna + Oscar on CaliforniaChoice
What change is happening to the LocalPlus® network with CaliforniaChoice?
- Exciting news! As of April 1, 2022, employees who don’t live in California are eligible to enroll in Cigna + Oscar LocalPlus® plans through CaliforniaChoice as long as they live in one of the below service areas:
- Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Massachusetts, Missouri, Mississippi, New Jersey, Nevada, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington
Which markets will this be applicable to?
- Small groups enrolled in LocalPlus® through CaliforniaChoice who have employees living in one of the above markets that are in a LocalPlus® service area
- Note: LocalPlus® is only available to employees living in select states and cities. Only employees living in a LocalPlus® service area may enroll.
