Blue Shield of California’s Premium Credit Program

Covered California for Small Business (CCSB) is committed to keeping their valued partners updated on the latest news and assistance available.
To help ease the financial burden during the COVID-19 pandemic, Blue Shield of California announced they will be applying a one-time premium credit for their customers. Along with Blue Shield of California, Covered California for Small Business (CCSB) will be applying a one-time premium credit for eligible employees enrolled in an employer-sponsored Blue Shield health plan. The credit will be a percentage applied to one month’s premium. CCSB will apply a one-time credit of 10% to an employee’s premium that is enrolled on a Blue Shield medical plan. The credit will appear on the employer’s CCSB December billing statement.
Consistent with Covered California for Small Business’ existing policies, Producer Services Agreement and related contracts, Covered California for Small Business will pay commissions based on premiums received from customers.
An email communication about this premium credit program will be sent to Covered California for Small Business employer groups identified as having employees actively enrolled in a Blue Shield plan.
